Shifting Sands: Yeppoon, Banner


If we zoom in you will notice that the dune is very high, with a walking path formed up one corner and a track around the base to allow vehicles to get to houses built among the dunes. The fence behind the dune might have been constructed to check the sand drift, but it may have simply marked the road boundary. This drift stretched almost the length of a town block.
